Abstract

Prompt literacy is a term introduced in this chapter that refers to designing, evaluating, refining, and reflecting on prompts for artificial intelligence systems. With the growing popularity of generative AI in education and K-12 settings, students may interact with generative AI systems without developing necessary communication skills. Thus, integrating prompt literacy as a digital competency within learning management systems can address the issue by providing a scaffolded approach to teaching the skill. In this regard, drawing on constructivist and socio-cultural theories, the author suggests a multi-level model for integrating prompt literacy within an LMS. The chapter analyzes existing LMSs such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, and Google Classroom, focusing on their strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, the chapter offers some guidelines for implementing prompt literacy within the mentioned platforms and provides current evidence from research studies that support this idea.

Formally verifying agent-written full-stack web apps with PDD Kit

AI agents can generate code at a scale that’s hard for humans to review line-by-line. PDD Kit helps ensure the code is doing what the developer intended by creating formal specifications and testing against them. It converts developer intent into a Verus specification, proves AI-generated code meets it for every input, and uses tests where proofs aren't practical. Developers review intent, not every line.
