TL;DR

Impaired RA reservoir strain was independently associated with TR progression in AF patients with initially insignificant TR, suggesting that RA functional assessment may provide additional information complementary to RA structural remodeling and help identify patients at higher risk of TR progression.

Physiological Left Atrial Staging and the Risk of New-Onset Atrial Fibrillation in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

The proposed LA staging framework offers mechanistic insights into how the LA adapts to progressive diastolic dysfunction in HCM and is associated with a graded risk of NOAF and may help tailor AF surveillance strategies.

Left Atrial Strain Prediction of New-Onset Atrial Fibrillation in Apical Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy with Cardiac MRI.

Cardiac MRI-derived LAS was independently associated with new-onset AF in AHCM and provided incremental prognostic value beyond routine clinical and left atrial volumetric measures and time-dependent ROC analyses demonstrated that LAS identified the development of AF well across prespecified time horizons.

Left Atrium and Left Atrial Appendage Remodeling Assessed by Echocardiography Predict Atrial Fibrillation Recurrence After Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation

The aim of this study is to evaluate left atrium and left atrial appendage remodeling using two‐dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D‐STE) and investigate its predictive value for atrial fibrillation recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA).

Prediction of left atrial appendage dysfunction by atrial strain imaging in patients with rheumatic mitral stenosis in sinus rhythm

Left atrial strain imaging provides a robust non-invasive predictor of LAA dysfunction in severe rheumatic MS patients in sinus rhythm and supports the potential clinical utility of LA strain in improving risk stratification and guiding anticoagulation decisions in this under-recognized high-risk population.
