TL;DR
The phylogenetic position of Pacificampa remains unclear, but the present phylogeny based on the 18S rRNA gene indicates a close relationship between Pacificampa and the campodeid genus Metriocampa Silvestri, 1911 and suggests the non-monophyly of the subfamily Campodeinae.
Abstract
A new troglobitic dipluran species of the campodeid genus Pacificampa Chevrizov, 1978, P. dodecas sp. nov., collected from four caves in Akiyoshidai district, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, is described. This new species is clearly distinguishable from other congeners by the following characteristics: body size, macrosetae distribution on the mesonotum and tergite, and the ratio of the antenna length to the body length. Additionally, partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene extracted from specimens collected from the four caves support the con-specificity of the populations, which form a lineage distinct from those of other Japanese Pacificampa species. Although the phylogenetic position of Pacificampa remains unclear, the present phylogeny based on the 18S rRNA gene indicates a close relationship between Pacificampa and the campodeid genus Metriocampa Silvestri, 1911. Furthermore, the present molecular phylogeny suggests the non-monophyly of the subfamily Campodeinae.
Herein, we describe a new species of the squat lobster genus

The new species Bathynomus tuebingoborikensis sp. nov., discovered in an historic museum collection, is described. We provide preliminary phylogenetic analyses of the genus, including extant and fossil species, using morphological characters. We reconstruct the evolutionary origin of the genus in the Caribbean, and sug...

The stygobiont gastropods of Iran remain poorly studied. In the present paper, two new species of Hydrobiidae are described from Tuveh seasonal spring, close to Tuveh village, Andimeshk, Khuzestan Province, Iran: one representing a new genus and the other a new species putatively assigned to the genus
Pseudamnicola...

A new free-living nematode species,
Neocephalobus xiamenensis
sp. nov., is described from rotting citrus collected in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. Morphologically, the new species is characterised by a body length reaching approximately 1 mm, the presence of minute teeth on both the dorsal and ventral sides of...
Drepanothrix Sars, 1862 is a monotypic genus of uncertain position within the family Macrothricidae (Cladocera: Anomopoda). Gamogenetic stages of Drepanothrix are poorly described despite the importance of their characters for anomopod systematics. Drepanothrix dentata (Eurén, 1861) is widespread in the Holarctic, but...
