Abstract

Engineering Anthropology: The Architecture of Transition A Collection of Books VIII–XI Abstract Engineering Anthropology: The Architecture of Transition brings together four interconnected volumes developing an interdisciplinary framework for understanding transformation in human cognitive, psychological, and meaning-making systems. The central question is how a system moves beyond the preservation of its existing structure toward a fundamental reconfiguration of its own architecture. Rather than defining development as the accumulation of knowledge, increased efficiency, or adaptation to external demands, the collection examines transformation as a transition between qualitatively different modes of organization. Book VIII — Neuroscience of Filters and Reconfiguration examines predictive processing, neuroplasticity, memory, language, interpersonal co-regulation, and the formation of cognitive filters. It explores the functional relationship between neural mechanisms and the engineering concepts of signal, noise, coherence, and openness. The analysis extends to artificial general intelligence, proposing that the long-term adaptability of intelligent systems may depend on their capacity to preserve openness to external correction and structural reconfiguration. Book IX — The Architecture of Connectedness: From Quantum Interpretation to AGI develops a hypothetical informational architecture in which reality is examined through configurations, relationships, and their capacity to maintain coherence. Drawing on systems theory, cybernetics, and interpretative questions in physics, it investigates how stable forms emerge, persist, and change. Its ontological proposals are explicitly distinguished from established physical theories and experimentally verified mechanisms. Book X — The Architecture of Connectedness introduces a functional interpretation of religious and anthropological symbols. Concepts drawn from different traditions—including angels, deities, demons, karma, samsara, and contemplative practices—are examined as possible descriptions of recurring structural processes: coherence, fragmentation, stabilization, resonance, and transformation. This comparative approach does not assume that different traditions share a single historical origin or that their symbolic systems are scientifically equivalent. Book XI — Engineering Theology: Why Butterflies Exist investigates metamorphosis through biochemical networks, temporal organization, semantic graphs, and models of psychological transformation. Network analyses are used to explore relationships between biological regulation, cognitive differentiation, crisis, integration, and the emergence of new organizational states. The distinction between a genuine transformation and the simulation of transformation becomes a central analytical problem. Across the four books, a recurring architecture of transition is proposed: Disequilibrium → Attentional Capture → Crisis → Differentiation → Reorientation → Integration → Play. Within this framework, suffering may restrict established response pathways, doubt may destabilize an existing configuration, and differentiation may create the conditions for structural change. Play is examined both as an expression of integration and, in a separate analytical model, as a possible facilitator of transformation. These functions remain distinct hypotheses rather than an established unified causal mechanism. The collection integrates neuroscience, biochemical network modeling, semantic analysis, systems theory, philosophy, and comparative religious interpretation. It distinguishes established empirical findings from functional analogies, computational modeling results, and speculative ontological propositions. The proposed correspondences are not presented as independent empirical validation of the overall theory. The principal contribution is a conceptual and methodological framework for investigating how complex systems retain coherence while undergoing structural transformation, and how genuine development can be distinguished from rigidity, fragmentation, or merely superficial change. The guiding criterion is the preservation and expansion of freedom alongside increasing connectedness. The collection is intended for researchers and readers interested in theoretical anthropology, cognitive science, complex systems, artificial intelligence, philosophy of mind, and interdisciplinary approaches to human development.
