Sep 2026 · Journal of Political Research · 0 citations · 10 references

Abstract

The relevance of the topic is related to the fact that young people in a rapidly changing world determine the future of society, and their receptivity to information dissemination channels is crucial for the value image of Russia. The purpose of the article is to analyze the worldview of young people in comparison with older people based on VCIOM arrays and to identify the perception of traditional values by young people in a digital environment. The object of the study is data from mass surveys conducted by VCIOM in 2023-2026 with a sample of 1,600 respondents (2.5% error), which make it possible to compare the group under 35 with older generations. Despite the extensive scientific literature on the value attitudes of young people, the perception of traditional values in the digital environment remains insufficiently studied, which is emphasized in this work. At the same time, family, spiritual and moral values, willingness to adhere to traditional values in a rapidly changing society, and receptivity to information channels are key research issues. The theoretical significance of the article is to confirm the provisions of R. Inglehart's concept of post-material values in relation to Russian youth (orientation towards self-realization and interpersonal relationships). The conceptual framework is the axiological approach combined with Inglehart's theory. The main research methods are the analysis of VTSIOM data arrays, a comparative approach to comparing age groups, as well as a review of current data from mass surveys. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that the stated conclusions can be used in building the national and state identity of Russia and for developing formats adapted to the digital environment for the formation of images of spiritual and moral identity. The findings of the study indicate the need for a more coherent interpretation of many ideals, noted by the authorities as spiritual and moral, for a clearer interpretation by the public and youth groups, as well as the need to use new means of communication in this regard.
