Abstract
We report an enantioselective aziridination of open-chain Z-disubstituted alkenes, enabled by a dirhodium(II) metallopeptide featuring finely tuned, β-turn-biased peptidyl ligands. This method affords cis-aziridines in up to 99:1 er and exhibits broad tolerance toward diverse aryl substitution patterns and peripheral functional groups. In conjunction, we explored a data science model that uncovers patterns in molecular features that reflect enantioselectivity across two nitrene transfer reactions catalyzed by dirhodium(II) metallopeptides: the aziridination reported here and a related benzylic amination reaction. This model is trained on molecular descriptors of both catalysts and substrates and used to interpret the differences between the two reactions. By linking a new synthetic methodology to cross-reaction, data science-driven modeling, this study offers both an efficient route to valuable aziridine scaffolds and a framework for analyzing enantioinduction across mechanistically diverse transformations.
Photochemistry offers a powerful platform for enabling unique bond cleavage and formation. However, achieving precise stereochemical control while suppressing persistent racemic background reactions remains a fundamental challenge in this field. Herein, we report a highly enantio- and diastereoselective [2 + 2] photocy...

The normorphan framework is a compact, sp3-rich N-bridged scaffold found in biologically active natural products and increasingly valued as a three-dimensional platform for medicinal chemistry. Despite its synthetic and biological relevance, direct catalytic asymmetric access to functionalized normorphan-related archit...

ABSTRACT The P‐chiral phosphine AntPhos was found to be the ligand of choice for nickel‐catalyzed intramolecular reductive coupling reactions of 5‐amino substituted 2,4‐dienoates bearing a tethered aldehyde. This approach to heterocyclic compounds has little precedent in the literature; it provides, inter alia, ready a...

The strain-release reactivity of azabicyclo[1.1.0]butanes (ABBs) offers a powerful entry to substituted azetidines, yet modular access to highly functionalized, allylic amine-containing frameworks remains underdeveloped. Here, we report a visible-light copper-catalyzed four-component coupling that effects 1,4-carboamin...

Highly diastereoselective 1,2-metalate rearrangements of α-haloalkylboronic esters that simultaneously construct contiguous stereogenic centers remain limited. Herein, we report a highly diastereoselective and stereospecific 1,2-metalate rearrangement of enantioenriched α-haloalkylboronic esters using gem-diborylalka...
