Abstract
The current paradigm of artificial intelligence (AI) design elevates conversational chatbot interfaces, making them the default mode through which hundreds of millions of people interact with AI systems globally. This narrative review identifies three related harms produced by the single-voice chatbot interface, drawing on insights from literature in cognitive science, political studies, AI alignment, game design and human computer interaction. Firstly, cognitive offloading of user thinking, secondly, ideological narrowing of user beliefs, and thirdly, epistemic compression of cultural and value diversity. We then propose multi-persona interfaces, in which multiple personas are presented to the user simultaneously, as a cost-effective intervention that addresses all three harms at once. We ground this intervention in traditions the AI literature has largely overlooked, drawing on techniques from game design and participatory simulation, including the magic circle, role differentiation, and persona embodiment. We propose a taxonomy for the future design of multi-persona interfaces, and call for a research agenda that closes the gap between technical pluralistic alignment methods and empirical studies of human-AI interactions with pluralistic interfaces.
This study examines how human-AI relationships can be reinterpreted through a dialogue-centred perspective within the framework of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Building on Bødker’s three waves of HCI, we trace the evolving role of the human from a cognitive “factor” to an intentional “actor,” and ultimately to a r...

The ethical limits of AI, particularly generative AI, such as ChatGPT, are discussed, questioning its impact on human processes of interaction and meaning-making, and the extent to which AI can engage in authentic dialogue is assessed.

How students interact with artificial intelligence (AI) systems in educational settings may determine whether that interaction supports or displaces critical thinking. This paper introduces two contributions. The first is the Three Paths of Student-AI Interaction, a typological framework identifying three qualitatively...
The generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) and the large language models (LLMs) are developing at a very fast pace, which has led to the fundamental change in the way of interaction with the non-player characters (NPCs) in the games. The conventional NPCs have no dynamic reaction mechanisms or long-term mem...

AI systems already sort, summarise, guide, approve, deny, and route people across institutions and services. House of IFs pushes that logic into a more explicit and absurd form to challenge whether they deserve the authority often granted to them. The project is an interactive installation centred on a web-based interf...
