Abstract
Solar PV cell effectiveness is modulated by both their geographical position and harvesting energy processes. Placed at 30°N latitude, India is fortunate to be in a region that is sun-rich, having approximately 300 days of sunlight annually. The average daily sun insolation in India is 5.00 kWh per m2, and the nation possesses both fossil fuels and sustainable energy sources. This article employs PVsyst tools to model an 83.2 kWp solar PV system, connected to the power grid and designed for use in an educational setting. It looks at the correlations between a number of variables and system degradation, including system linkages, the ambient temperature, solar irradiation, converter effectiveness, electrical wiring, dust accumulation, power electronic parts, and the grid's reliability. It found that solar PV system PR is 82.44% while the daily mean global horizontal radiation is around 5.05 kWh per m2. The proposed plant produces an annual energy of about 1,34,339 kWh, which would decrease carbon emissions by 159.4 tCO2 per year. By comparing the analysis data and the actual data from the PVsyst software, it has been seen that the performance ratio of solar PV has essentially grown in every month of the year. The solar PV system reported the performance ratio of 74% in 2023, compared to the expected performance of ratio 82.44%. After programming was implemented in 2024, the performance ratio increased to 77% in 2025 and subsequently to 78% in 2025.This research may provide some learning for future design and operations of grid-connected systems in India and worldwide.
The increasing demand for electrical energy in the commercial sector has encouraged the utilization of rooftop Photovoltaic (PV) systems as a sustainable energy solution in tropical climate regions. However, rooftop PV performance is influenced by the interaction of geometric, electrical, and environmental parameters,...
