Abstract
The relevance of the study is determined by the growing role of geographically distributed IT teams and the need to evaluate remote work not only as an organizational form of employment but also as a factor that changes the economic parameters of project implementation. The purpose of the article is to develop theoretical and methodological foundations of economic management of IT projects under remote work and to form an integrated system for assessing the effectiveness of distributed project teams. The research uses systems analysis, scientific generalization and structural-logical modelling. A remote IT project is represented as an interconnected set of resource, process, technological and human components. The study identifies changes in planning, organization, coordination, control, motivation and personnel development caused by the digital work environment. Economic effects and risks are systematized for infrastructure, human resources, project time, productivity, innovation and business continuity. The results substantiate a multi-criteria assessment system combining economic, time, performance, communication, team and innovation indicators. An integral efficiency index is proposed, allowing indicator weights to be adapted to the characteristics of a specific project. A methodological approach to estimating the net economic effect of remote project organization is also developed by balancing infrastructure savings, productivity, duration and quality effects against additional digital, cybersecurity and coordination costs and expected risk losses. Agile, Scrum and Kanban are considered instruments for maintaining adaptability, workflow transparency and timely management response in distributed teams. The scientific novelty consists in interpreting the remote IT team as an element of the economic mechanism of a project that directly shapes its costs, deadlines, productivity, quality, risks and innovative capacity. The practical value of the proposed approach lies in its use by IT companies for choosing between remote, hybrid and office project models, designing KPI/OKR systems, planning budgets, monitoring project performance and managing risks.
