Upaya guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa pada soal cerita matematika kelas III SD Negeri Beru Lamongan
Abstract
This study aims to describe teachers' efforts to address students' learning difficulties in solving mathematics story problems among third-grade students at Beru State Elementary School, Lamongan. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings show that teachers addressed students' difficulties through several efforts, including providing step-by-step explanations, guiding students to identify important information in story problems, using varied learning methods and media, providing additional exercises and individual guidance, giving motivation and reinforcement, involving parents in students' learning, and conducting evaluation and follow-up activities. These efforts were implemented to assist students in understanding and solving mathematics story problems. The study also identified several challenges, including students' low interest in reading lengthy story problems, limited instructional time, and differences in parental support at home.
