O ABANDONO FAMILIAR E SOCIAL NO PROCESSO DE TRATAMENTO DE PESSOAS EM USO DE SUBSTÂNCIAS ATENDIDAS NO OESTE PARANAENSE

Sep 2026 · Revista Ibero-Americana de Humanidades, Ciências e Educação · Vol 12, pp. 1-19 · 0 citations

Abstract

This study investigates how family abandonment and social exclusion influence the treatment of individuals with substance use disorders treated by the Integrated Mental Health Service (SIM-PR), in conjunction with the Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs (CAPS AD III), in Western Paraná. Grounded in existential phenomenology, the research understands the abusive use of alcohol and other drugs as a complex phenomenon that transcends biomedical and moral explanations, requiring an understanding of the individual in their singularity and life context, while authors such as Sodelli (2010) and Barbosa (2017) advocate for care based on authentic bonds, acceptance, and recognition of subjectivity. The hypothesis is that family abandonment and social exclusion intensify psychological suffering and weaken the therapeutic process, contributing to continued use; therefore, the research adopts a qualitative, exploratory approach, complemented by quantitative analysis of variables. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with users aged 18 to 65, residing in Western Paraná, seeking to understand how affective bonds and the social context interfere with recovery and can contribute to improving reception and care strategies in psychosocial care services.
