Aerosolized prostaglandin E1 improves oxygenation during one-lung ventilation: A dose-finding randomized controlled trial

Abstract

Highlights • Nebulized PGE1improves oxygenation during OLV under 60% FiO2.• PGE1 reduces intrapulmonary shunt (Qs/Qt) without increasing PPCs.• The 0.3 μg/kg dose provides the greatest oxygenation benefit.• High dose PGE1 is associated with lower CPIS (exploratory, surrogate endpoint).• Hemodynamic monitoring is advised for higher PGE1 doses.
