Abstract

Versioned reproducibility materials for DEEPMAP-Atlantic V3. This dataset and its analysis code document a point-based cartographic screening of 84 Mid-Atlantic Ridge hydrothermal-site records: 83 regionally selected InterRidge v3.4 entries plus the separately sourced Koralovoye literature record. The inventory is not a systematic census of discoveries through 2026. The frozen analysis uses 216 official ISA exploration-contract polygons and official OSPAR MPA boundaries. It identifies 25 records intersecting ISA polygons, five intersecting OSPAR MPAs, and none intersecting both. A separate Molodezhnoye sensitivity test contains 85 records, with 26 ISA intersections. Activity groups are evidence categories, not ecological vulnerability or mining-risk scores. The compact Data S1 archive includes the curated inventory, original InterRidge source table, source ledger, data dictionary, acquisition receipts, executable Python analysis and figure code, machine-readable results, figures, a screening viewer, and SHA-256 manifest. The separately uploaded full OSPAR source archive contains 599 features and enables the documented full-layer recomputation. ISA source geometry is excluded because redistribution permission is not asserted. Exact query, endpoint, snapshot checksum and instructions for authorised reacquisition are supplied; recomputing frozen ISA results requires the matching source snapshot. Public files can be checked internally without downloading that geometry. This record is distinct from the earlier DEEPMAP software release (10.5281/zenodo.20149247), which is a related historical output and is not the reproducibility archive for V3. No manuscript, confidential peer-review correspondence or policy report is included here. Components have different rights; see RIGHTS_AND_LICENCES.md. InterRidge material retains CC BY-NC-SA 4.0; OSPAR retains CC0 1.0; Natural Earth is public domain. Public access does not assign a new blanket licence to original code or documentation. Funding: DEEPMAP, recipient of the FLAD Atlantic Security Award 2025, in partnership with the Atlantic Centre and Instituto da Defesa Nacional. CCMAR received Portuguese national funding from FCT under UID/04326/2025, UID/PRR/04326/2025 and LA/P/0101/2020. Funders had no role in study design, analysis, interpretation or the decision to publish.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.
