Oct 2026 · Journal of Business and Economics · 0 citations · 29 references

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized the HR landscape and workplace processes, especially in hybrid settings, with its swift integration. This research explores how the use of AI impacts employee well-being, taking into account both the positive and negative elements of technology-driven work. The study identifies in particular the usefulness of AI tools in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of work, their role in decision-making, their flexibility, and their impact on employees' experience, while also raising issues concerning technostress, job insecurity, work intensification, and a decrease in interpersonal interaction. A quantitative research approach is suggested and the data from employees under hybrid arrangements would be collected by using a structured questionnaire. The study also investigates how perceived organizational support is a mediator between AI adoption and employee well-being and how digital competence is a moderator between the two. The results are likely to be useful for institutions that want to use AI in a responsible way while ensuring the psychological, social and professional health of their employees. The study presents practical implications for developing human-centred AI and practices of sustainable hybrid working and adds to the growing body of research on AI-integrated workplaces.
