Abstract

This study examined changes in physical fitness among Grade 7 learners following a 10-week Yoga-Zumba program at SCALA Integrated School in Nagtipunan, Quirino. Guided by Experiential Learning Theory, the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, and Social Cognitive Theory, the study employed a quantitative one-group pretest-posttest design. Thirty purposively selected learners participated in three 60-minute sessions weekly. Data were collected through a demographic information template and physical fitness assessments administered before and after the intervention. Significant changes were observed in body mass index, push-up repetitions, plank duration, sit-and-reach performance, and left-side shoulder flexibility. Height also increased significantly, while changes in body weight, starting and finishing heart rates, and right-side shoulder flexibility were not statistically significant. The findings suggest favorable changes in selected muscular fitness and flexibility outcomes following the program. However, the absence of a comparison group and long-term follow-up limits causal conclusions and the assessment of sustained effects. Further controlled studies and longer-term monitoring are recommended. The study aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by informing structured school-based physical activities. Its sustainability contribution lies in supporting evidence-informed physical education planning and school-based health promotion.
