Optimizing Hazardous Chemical Leakage Rescue with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
Abstract
With the occurrence of chemical leakage accidents, rescue workers always face high toxicity, explosion risks, and poor visibility when they work in this accidental environment. Traditional rescuing method exists shortages in information acquisition, command judgement, personnel security, and organization synergy. In order to optimize these problems that have persisted for a long time, this paper aims to analyze the core difficulties and rescue challenges at the leakage site, and proposes an integrated plan centered on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), including limitations in information acquisition, monitoring, and data integration, limitations in decision support and command judgement, insufficient personnel safety and protection, and challenges in organizational coordination and communication. The paper references real accident cases and proves that unmanned aerial vehicles can optimize the above-mentioned problems. Therefore, using UAV to assist rescue holds important and practical value.
