Abstract
This study examines the transformation of business education curricula in response to the rapid expansion of the digital economy. The increasing integration of artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing, and digital platforms has significantly reshaped industrial demands and professional competencies. Using a qualitative research approach and content analysis, this study explores the challenges and strategic opportunities associated with curriculum transformation in higher education institutions. The findings reveal that universities face critical challenges related to technological infrastructure, faculty readiness, curriculum relevance, and industry alignment. However, digital transformation also provides opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, experiential education, global collaboration, and technology-driven innovation. The study emphasizes the importance of adaptive leadership, faculty development, industry partnerships, and student-centered pedagogies in supporting sustainable curriculum reform. Ultimately, transforming business education curricula is essential for preparing graduates with digital competencies, critical thinking abilities, and innovative skills necessary to compete effectively in the global digital economy.
The increasing adoption of digital technologies has transformed the landscape of commerce, management, and business education worldwide. Educational institutions are redesigning teaching approaches, curricula, and learning environments to prepare graduates for an economy driven by technological innovation. This paper investigates three interconnected dimensions of this transformation: the integration of Educational Technology (EdTech) into business education, the development of digital competence among learners, and the emergence of digital entrepreneurship education as an essential component of modern business training. Drawing upon current academic literature, empirical studies, and industry evidence, the paper argues that digital transformation represents more than the introduction of technological tools into classrooms. Rather, it signifies a comprehensive change in instructional practices, curriculum design, institutional strategies, and graduate skill requirements. The study examines the application of adaptive learning technologies, business simulations, cloud-based learning platforms, and artificial intelligence in commerce and management education. It further explores internationally recognized digital competence frameworks that guide curriculum development and analyzes how entrepreneurship education has evolved to incorporate digital innovation and technology-enabled business creation. The paper also discusses major implementation challenges, including disparities in digital infrastructure, limited institutional capacity, concerns regarding ethical use of artificial intelligence, assessment of digital competencies, and unequal access to technological resources. Finally, recommendations are presented for higher education institutions, policymakers, and curriculum developers seeking to strengthen business education in response to the demands of the rapidly evolving digital economy.

The rapid advancement of digital technologies is transforming the accounting profession at an unprecedented pace, creating substantial gaps between the skills demanded by employers and those cultivated within existing accounting education curricula. This study explores the extent to which digital skills are integrated into accounting education curricula and identifies strategies for curriculum enhancement. Employing a systematic literature review methodology, this research synthesized 25 peer-reviewed articles and academic books published between 2015 and 2024, sourced from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. The findings reveal four dominant themes: (1) a significant misalignment between academic curricula and industry digital skill requirements; (2) emerging consensus on essential digital competencies for future accountants, including data analytics, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence literacy; (3) institutional barriers to curriculum reform such as faculty digital competency limitations and resource constraints; and (4) best practices in integrating digital skills through competency-based frameworks. This study proposes a structured conceptual framework for integrating digital skills into accounting education curricula, offering actionable recommendations for educators, curriculum designers, and institutional policymakers. The findings carry significant implications for accounting education reform in both developing and developed countries, particularly in the context of Industry 4.0 and the post-pandemic digital acceleration.

The recent rapid development of information and communication technologies (ICT) and accelerated expansion of online learning during the COVID-19 period have transformed the global education landscape. Digital learning represents one of the most significant transformations in higher education worldwide. This concept refers to the process of integrating digital and online technologies into education to enhance the learning experience. Thus, this conceptual paper explores digital learning, including its opportunities, challenges, and implications for higher education institutions, with specific attention paid to Malaysia. Using current literature, the paper discusses digital literacy, e-learning readiness, blended learning, and factors affecting successful implementation of digital learning. In particular, digital learning is seen as offering several opportunities, including improved flexibility, access, and collaboration, as well as increased student empowerment. The main challenges associated with implementing digital learning include technological infrastructure, the digital divide, students' readiness and self-regulation, and engagement. The paper proposes a conceptual framework that relates different dimensions of digital learning to academic performance and digital empowerment of students. In sum, the paper contributes to the growing literature on digital transformation in higher education.
