TL;DR

This study aimed to investigate whether concurrent high TyG and ABSI confer an additive CVD risk in this population of prediabetes.

Abstract

Individuals with prediabetes have a higher cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk than those with normoglycemia. Identifying high‐risk subgroups is crucial for targeted prevention. While the triglyceride‐glucose index (TyG) and a body shape index (ABSI) are independently linked to CVD risk, their combined utility in individuals with prediabetes remains unexplored. This study aimed to investigate whether concurrent high TyG and ABSI confer an additive CVD risk in this population.

The Triglyceride‐Glucose (TyG) Index and Incident Diabetes and Cardiovascular Events in People Living With HIV‐1 Infection. A 14‐Year Observational Cohort Study

The triglyceride‐glucose (TyG) index has shown predictive value for Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular events (CVEs) in the general population, but its utility in PWH remains unclear.

Joint Assessment of Triglyceride-Glucose Index and Non-Traditional Lipid Parameters for Incident Stroke Risk in Middle-Aged and Older Chinese Adults: A Prospective Cohort Study Based on CHARLS.

BACKGROUND The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and non-traditional lipid parameters have been linked to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular risk, but longitudinal evidence on their combined utility for predicting incident stroke remains limited. We aimed to evaluate the associations between composite indices integratin...

The Association Between Atherogenic Index of Plasma and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in a Multi‐Ethnic Population of Premature Coronary Artery Disease Patients: Insights From IPAD Study

The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is a lipid‐based indicator of cardiometabolic risk. We examined whether AIP is associated with prevalent type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and fasting blood sugar (FBS) in patients with premature coronary artery disease (PCAD) and explored whether this association differed across Ira...

Nonlinear relationship between triglyceride glucose-body mass index and the risk of prediabetes: a multi-center retrospective cohort study

The triglyceride-glucose body mass index (TyG-BMI), a novel composite measure integrating lipid-glucose metabolism and obesity, has shown promise in predicting diabetes risk. Nevertheless, its association with the onset of prediabetes remains insufficiently investigated, particularly concerning potential nonlinear...

Association between the triglyceride-glucose-body mass index and the risk of early vascular aging in young and middle-aged Chinese adults: a cross-sectional study

Early vascular aging (EVA) reflects accelerated arterial aging and is increasingly recognized as an important precursor of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Insulin resistance (IR) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of vascular aging. The triglyceride–glucose–body mass index (TyG-BMI), a surrogate marker of IR, has de...
