Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the intention-action discrepancy in influenza vaccination and identify factors associated with vaccination behavior among healthcare professionals.
This was a cross-sectional study. An anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted with healthcare professionals at a hospital in Chengdu, China from May to June 2025. Stratified convenience sampling was used. Data concerning respondents’ sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge of influenza and vaccines, and perceptions of and attitudes toward vaccination were collected. The chi-square test was performed for comparisons between intentions and actions. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the factors associated with healthcare professionals’ vaccination behavior.
A total of 570 questionnaires were distributed, and 547 (95.95%) valid responses were collected. Among the 547 healthcare professionals, 316 (57.77%) intended to be vaccinated, and 251 (45.89%) were vaccinated during the previous influenza season. Having the intention to be vaccinated but not being vaccinated during the previous influenza season was considered an intention-action discrepancy. Among the 316 healthcare professionals who intended to be vaccinated, 96 were not vaccinated, indicating an intention-action discrepancy rate of 30.38%. Healthcare professionals who intended to be vaccinated but were not vaccinated accounted for 17.55% (96/547) of the participants finally included in the study. Professional title (odds ratio (OR) = 1.421, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.079–1.872), hospital department type (OR = 0.467, 95% CI: 0.312–0.698), mastery of knowledge about influenza and vaccines (OR = 1.874, 95% CI: 1.256–2.807), concerns about severe adverse reactions following vaccination (OR = 2.479, 95% CI: 1.646–3.733), opinion on the statement that receiving an influenza vaccine is an effective way to reduce the incidence of severe influenza (OR = 0.427, 95% CI: 0.214–0.852), and awareness of the hospital’s free or convenient vaccination services (OR = 0.217, 95% CI: 0.126–0.374) were major factors associated with healthcare professionals’ vaccination behavior (all

ABSTRACT Public transportation drivers (PTDs) are vulnerable to influenza and could potentially act as super-spreaders. Therefore, understanding the factors associated with influenza vaccine uptake is crucial for public health. This cross-sectional study evaluated the prevalence of and factors associated with influenza vaccination uptake and intention among PTDs in Lebanon. A face-to-face questionnaire was administered to 509 PTDs in 2023. Socio-demographics, health-related variables, environmental factors, social norms, and knowledge were collected. Vaccine Hesitancy and Vaccination Attitudes Examination scales were used. Chi-square test and hierarchical logistic regression analyses were performed. Influenza vaccine uptake rate was 28.9%, with 56.2% expressing an intention to receive the vaccine if it was affordable or available through a mobile clinic. Factors that were positively associated with vaccine uptake included: knowing someone who took the vaccine aOR = 3.6[2.2–6.1]; being advised to take the vaccine aOR = 2.1[1.2–3.8]; and previous influenza infection aOR = 1.9[1.4–2.7]. Factors negatively associated with vaccine uptake included: lack of confidence in vaccines aOR = 0.7[0.6–0.9] and risk calculation aOR = 0.8[0.6–0.9]. Factors positively associated with influenza vaccine intention were knowing someone who took the vaccine aOR = 2.2[1.4–3.4] and previously taking the influenza vaccine aOR = 1.8[1.1–3.0]. Factors negatively associated with vaccine intention were having an average socioeconomic status aOR = 0.6[0.4–0.9], lack of confidence aOR = 0.7[0.6–0.8], concerns about commercial profiteering aOR = 0.7[0.6–0.9], and a preference for natural immunity 0.8[0.6–0.9]. Enhancing vaccine accessibility and affordability along with targeted educational campaigns that address specific concerns and misinformation, could increase uptake rates among PTDs.

Investigation of parents' knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding childhood influenza vaccination in Jiangsu showed moderate knowledge and positive attitudes but low actual vaccination rates, suggesting targeted interventions are needed to reduce the cognition-practice gap and improve childhood influenza vaccination coverage.

Background HPV infection is the leading cause of cervical cancer. HPV vaccination coverage among young people in China remains low. Medical students, as a high-risk group and future health educators, are critical for cervical cancer control. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1,244 medical students from April to May 2026. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0, including t-test, correlation, regression, and serial mediation analysis (PROCESS Model 6). Results Among 1,203 valid participants (51.0% male, 49.0% female, 71.8% having received HPV vaccines), HPV knowledge was positively correlated with both vaccination intention and actual vaccination behavior. The serial chain mediation analysis specifically focused on vaccination intention: HPV knowledge showed a significant direct associational link with vaccination intention (β = 0.1238, p < 0.001). Perceived susceptibility and perceived severity served as significant serial mediators for intention. Conclusion HPV knowledge is correlated with vaccination intention via direct associations and serial mediating associations of perceived susceptibility and perceived severity. Based on these cross-sectional correlational findings, interventions targeting HPV knowledge improvement may correlate with elevated risk perception and stronger vaccination intention.
