Abstract
New digital technologies are significantly changing the way production systems of industrial enterprises function. At the same time, for Russian industrial enterprises, the transition to the principles of Industry 4.0 is one of the most important conditions for maintaining competitiveness. However, the digital transformation of the industry is fraught with serious challenges and risks. The article examines the phenomenon of digital transformation of industrial enterprises in the context of the fourth industrial revolution. The key drivers of digital technology adoption are analyzed, including the personnel crisis, geopolitical instability, and the need to improve operational efficiency.
