The aim of this study was to clarify the relationship between ACI and blood pressure.

Abstract

Habitual alcohol consumption is a risk factor for hypertension. The alcohol consumption index (ACI), which is defined as the product of mean corpuscular volume, gamma‐glutamyl transferase, and high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in blood, has been proposed as a biomarker for estimating individual alcohol consumption. The aim of this study was to clarify the relationship between ACI and blood pressure.

Effects of Kiwifruit Consumption on Blood Pressure in Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

Hypertension represents a major public health challenge worldwide. Nutritional strategies, particularly increased fruit consumption, are being explored as non‐pharmacological means of regulating blood pressure (BP). Kiwifruit, a fruit high in potassium and antioxidant compounds, has been proposed to exert antihypertens...

The Association Between Atherogenic Index of Plasma and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in a Multi‐Ethnic Population of Premature Coronary Artery Disease Patients: Insights From IPAD Study

The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is a lipid‐based indicator of cardiometabolic risk. We examined whether AIP is associated with prevalent type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and fasting blood sugar (FBS) in patients with premature coronary artery disease (PCAD) and explored whether this association differed across Ira...

Blood pressure targets for hypertension in people with diabetes mellitus

Objectives This is a protocol for a Cochrane review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To determine if lower blood pressure (BP) targets (i.e. ≤ 130/85 mmHg), compared with standard BP targets (i.e. ≤ 140 to 160/90 to 100 mmHg) are associated with reduction in mortality and morbidity in people with elevated...
