Associations of the dietary phytochemical index with gastrointestinal symptoms and negative emotional state in Turkish adults: a cross-sectional study

Sep 2026 · Nutrire · Vol 51 · 0 citations · 31 references

TL;DR

The findings suggest that higher DPI scores are associated with lower gastrointestinal symptom burden and lower anxiety scores in Turkish adults, however, the cross-sectional design precludes causal inference, and reliance on a single 24-hour dietary recall may not adequately reflect habitual dietary intake.
