Abstract

The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) represents a historic transformation in India’s education system, aiming not only to make education more inclusive, flexible, and innovation-oriented for students but also to provide new dimensions to teacher training and professional development. Teachers are the backbone of any education system, and the true objectives of education can be achieved only when teachers are empowered, well-trained, and motivated. NEP 2020 places particular emphasis on teacher training and development, emphasizing that quality education is possible only when teachers are provided with continuous opportunities for learning, professional empowerment, and the adoption of innovative practices. According to the policy, comprehensive reforms are required across various dimensions of teacher selection, training, assessment, and career development in order to strengthen the overall education system.   Abstract in Hindi Language:
