Cyclohexanone serves as a crucial precursor in the chemical industry and can be produced via selective hydrogenation of phenol, a process that suffers from sluggish reaction kinetics and over‐hydrogenation to cyclohexanol. This study develops a hierarchical ZSM‐5 zeolite‐supported Pd–Co bimetallic catalyst (Pd–Co/DZ) that addresses this dichotomy through a synergistic dual‐function design. Compared with monometallic Pd, the formation of highly dispersed Pd–Co alloy substantially enhances the adsorption and activation rate of H

, thereby accelerating the phenol hydrogenation. The hierarchical zeolite exploits its abundant surface defect sites to chelate Co species, generating Co–O–Si bonds. This configuration promotes the tilted adsorption of phenol while suppressing the deep hydrogenation of cyclohexanone to cyclohexanol. Leveraging the dual role of Co in the Pd/ZSM‐5 under a phenol‐to‐Pd molar ratio of 1132, a turnover frequency of 268.9 h

for phenol‐to‐cyclohexanone with 93.1% yield is achieved. This work provides valuable insights for the design of catalysts in the hydrogenation of phenolics.
Bifunctional metal–zeolite catalysts are promising for polyolefin hydroconversion, yet random C–C scission and complex depolymerization pathways complicate catalyst design. Desilication provides an interfacial engineering approach to facilitate the coupling between hydrogen activation and macromolecular C–C bond clea...

In this study, CO2 was captured in monoethanolamine, forming hydroxyethyl carbamate, which was subsequently converted into 2‐oxazolidinone under ambient conditions with the aid of a Zn‐NC catalyst derived from MOF. The catalyst was extensively characterized using PXRD, N2 Sorption, NH3 and CO2‐TPD, H2‐TPR, XPS, EPR, Ra...

ABSTRACT The electrooxidation of 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5‐furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) is often limited by competitive adsorption between HMF and surface‐bound hydroxyl species (OHads), which governs both activity and selectivity, yet independent control over these interfacial adsorption processes remains...

The selectivity of electrochemical CO reduction (CORR) on Cu‐based catalysts is critically governed by dynamic surface reconstruction and the resulting interfacial adsorbates. However, how reconstruction‐derived surface species cooperatively dictate the acetate pathway remains poorly understood. Here, we employ a Cu2O/...
Paired electrolysis of 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) enables the concurrent production of 2,5‐furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) and 2,5‐bishydroxymethylfuran (BHMF) as polymer precursors in an energy‐efficient manner. Its practical implementation is hindered by the scarcity of paired electrodes that can operate under d...
