Abstract
General Background The pulp and paper manufacturing industry relies heavily on the continuous reliability and operational efficiency of primary production machinery. Specific Background Periodic maintenance of the drum pulper machine at PT. XYZ is essential to sustain optimal performance under continuous, heavy-duty operational workloads. Knowledge Gap Unscheduled breakdowns and component wear can severely disrupt continuous pulping operations if structured preventive maintenance protocols are omitted. Aims This study examines the implementation of periodic maintenance on the drum pulper machine to prevent unexpected failures, minimize downtime, and extend equipment service life. Results Systematic maintenance encompassing routine inspections, lubrication schedules, and corrective component replacements successfully stabilizes machinery operations, curtails failure frequencies, and improves pulp consistency. Novelty This work presents an operational evaluation of structured daily, periodic, and corrective maintenance frameworks applied specifically to industrial drum pulper systems. Implications Effective and well-planned periodic maintenance systems are vital to support sustainable, optimal machinery operations and long-term production efficiency.
KEY FINDINGS HIGHLIGHTS
Routine daily checks and cleaning procedures effectively detect operational anomalies at an early stage.
Scheduled periodic maintenance protocols stabilize machine performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
Corrective maintenance actions successfully restore normal machine operations following component wear or failure.
