Indicators of the Economic Security of an Enterprise (on the Example of PJSC NLMK)

Abstract

Subject. Indicators of the state of economic security of the enterprise. Goal. To analyze the economic security indicators of NLMK PJSC, as well as the formulation of proposals to improve the state of economic security at the enterprise. A method or methodology. The following methods were used in the work: statistical and comparative analysis, grouping, analysis and synthesis, as well as system and logistic approaches. The results of the work. It was revealed that in 2023-2025, there was a steady deterioration in key financial indicators, which indicates an increasing shortage of highly liquid assets and a decrease in the ability to repay short-term liabilities. An increase in technical depreciation of production assets has been established, which indicates a slow pace of equipment modernization with relatively rapid physical obsolescence. A sharp drop in profitability of all types was recorded, with an increase in net profit due to non-operating income, which indicates a low quality of profit. Conclusions. Signs of the "liquidity scissors" model have been found. The possibility of the company's transition to a high-risk zone has been confirmed. The directions of strategy adjustment necessary to prevent further deterioration of the company's condition are proposed.
