Plant-Microbe Interactions and Immunity
Abstract
Microbial siderophores play an important role in improving plant tolerance to abiotic and biotic stresses. Beyond iron acquisition, they support plant health by regulating oxidative stress, chelating toxic metals, and mediating beneficial plant–microbe interactions. This review highlights the role of siderophore-producing microbes in mitigating salinity, drought, alkaline stress, and metal toxicity, as well as in the improvement of nutrient solubilization and uptake. It also delineates environmental and physiological factors affecting siderophore production. The review additionally explores how the microbial interactions within soil consortia moderate siderophore biosynthesis and bio-control activity. Advances in multi-omics and genome editing approaches are discussed for identifying important genes and pathways associated with siderophore-mediated stress tolerance. The mechanisms behind siderophore-mediated stress tolerance are discussed, mainly their involvement in pathogen suppression through iron competition and activation of induced systemic resistance. Furthermore, it addresses the commercialization challenges and integration of siderophore applications into precision agriculture, aligning their agricultural and environmental benefits with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Some claim that especially in the field of agile software development the research lags years behind of the practice. In this paper, we characterize the status and main challenges for research on agile software development, and propose a preliminary roadmap, focusing on providing more empirical research, primarily on e...

Agile methods continue to gain popularity. In particular, the Scrum method appears to be on the verge of becoming a de-facto standard in the industry, leading the so called Agile movement. While there are success stories and recommendations, there is little scientifically valid evidence of the challenges in the adoptio...

AI agents can generate code at a scale that’s hard for humans to review line-by-line. PDD Kit helps ensure the code is doing what the developer intended by creating formal specifications and testing against them. It converts developer intent into a Verus specification, proves AI-generated code meets it for every input, and uses tests where proofs aren't practical. Developers review intent, not every line.
